And while the increase in cases may have slowed, we're still seeing
3,500-4,000+ cases a day, with no sign of a decrease. With these trends,
I cannot, in good faith, organize a conference retreat and a mountain season that encourages travel across our region. We owe it to our family, friends, and our communities to do everything we can to reduce spreading the virus.
Is 'cross coming? I'm not sure. Our cyclocross races are smaller and geographically limited, so we're looking at some options like a track and field style pentathlon at races. But, this is only if our state gets cases under control. I'll have a decision on CX in late September.
In the meantime, we'll be hosting some virtual competitions in the fall for the coolest trick, best fail, and best kit design. I'll also share some ideas later that the UA is doing to keep members engaged.
Please, stay safe and healthy.
